Congratulations to the students who participated in The Sanderson Arcade Fashion Show on 6 June.
Design Technology Teacher at The King Edward VI School Morpeth Adele Percival said “We participated in the Sanderson Arcade Fashion show where pupils were exhibiting and modelling their work from GCSE and A Level coursework.
All pupils involved did an excellent job throughout the day and they really enjoyed it, despite their initial nerves about walking out into the public! All students were a real credit to the school”.
Congratulations to Kristen Barwick in Year 11 who has designed banners whichare currently exhibited at The Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth. The designs feature a WW1 theme, as the school is currently participating in a collaborative WW1 project with Morpeth Antiquarian Society.Ahead of a WW1 exhibition in Morpeth Town Hall in July, Design Technology Teacher Miss Percival said “following on from the poster designs, we are continuing this work during a Year 10 project, where we hope to have some WW1 creations to exhibit and display. This will be a great opportunity for the community and our pupils to be involved in such a commemorative event.”
Well done to KEVI GCSE Textiles Technology and AS and A2 Product Design students who have two slots in the fashion show, and who will be modelling their exam pieces.
Design Technology Teacher Miss Percival said “Students’ work involves a number of garments, fashion accessories and dog coats that have been created independently as part of the practical element of coursework. Students’ work takes inspiration from various themes such as the 1960s, and nature and cultures from around the world. I am extremely proud of all students and this is an exciting opportunity for our students to see their work being exhibited at such as public event. It marks the end of all of their hard work during their GCSE and A Level courses.”
