Double Rugby Success – Year 9 & 10 Rugby teams are Northumberland Schools Champions!

Year 9 and Year 10 Rugby teams became Northumberland Schools Champions last night.  The Year 9 team defeated a strong St Thomas More school 40-19 and Year 10 defeated Dame Allan’s 31-17 at Kingston Park the home of the Newcastle Falcons.

On their route to the final the Year 9 team defeated Bede 57-0, St Mary’s 36-5, Newcastle School for Boys 27-0 and in a close semi-final pipped Dame Allan’s 21-14 whilst Year 10 defeated Bede Academy 27 – 0, Cramlington Learning Village 14-12, and the Royal Grammar School in a tight semi-final 22-19.

Mr Foster who led the teams offered his congratulations ” Well done to all the players. A well deserved victory and for both teams with lots of promise, commitment and character. The squads were excellent showing commitment, heart and good skill level. They fully deserved the win!”.
