At King Edward’s we pride ourselves on our relationships with parents/carers and students. We know that gaining as much information about our school and our ethos will enable a smooth transition for your child. We very much look forward to welcoming our new cohort to our school.

Information Transfer

Please be assured that we have been working closely with our middle schools on the transfer of transition information. All SENDCo’s have now met and our pastoral teams will be meeting after half term. A plan is in place to support those students requiring additional transition support.

During the week commencing Monday 5 June, parents and carers will receive two forms to complete and return, one personal data and one GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) form. If the medical need requires us to store or administer medication, or requires us to have further information we will send an online Health Care Plan to complete.

Summary of Transition Events

During the week beginning Monday 5 June students will be bringing home a Parent / Carer handbook. This should provide you with all the information you need to prepare for the move to King Edward’s.

In addition students identified as more vulnerable by their middle schools will have the opportunity to have an initial visit to the school and meet support staff. During this week our pastoral teams will meet with middle schools staff and discuss every student to share any key information.

Middle School Assemblies

In the week beginning Monday 12 June Mrs Coffey, who will be Year 9 Leader and Mr Read who will be Year 9 Pastoral Coordinator from September 2023, Mrs Davies, our Assistant Headteacher (SENDCO) and Mr Clark, Deputy Head will be visiting all three Middle Schools to deliver assemblies and introduce themselves to Year 8 students and give them the opportunity to ask any questions.
